What We Hear, What We Do
At KCB, we spend a lot of time listening. Every day, we hear the real and right now needs of our homeless neighbors—not just stats, but stories. Needs that go beyond what most people assume.
Yes, food is always at the top of the list. But so are bikes (for transportation), blankets (because the nights are cold), and gift cards (for meals, hygiene, and essentials). Speaking of hygiene, do you know any barbers that would donate their time and love to coming by and offering haircuts for our neighbors in need?
Spiritually speaking, the need is just as real. Many of our neighbors ask for prayer—sometimes for housing, sometimes for healing, sometimes just for strength to make it through another day. They need to know they’re seen, known, and loved.
And that is why we keep showing up.
Every Thursday at 11am, we have a Bible study—a time to reflect, ask questions, and find hope together. No strings attached—just an open invitation. You’re always welcome to join us or invite others.
Starting today, we launched a new monthly outreach—going directly to our neighbors where they are, listening to their stories, meeting their needs, and reminding them they’re not alone. This morning, we visited an area of the riverbed and connected with a few neighbors, planting seeds of hope.
We believe transformation starts with relationships, and relationships start with simply being present.
If you’ve ever wondered how to help, it’s simple: Give, pray, show up.
Donate: Gift cards, food, bikes, and blankets go a long way. Let us know if you have something else that might help someone too.
Pray: Keep our homeless neighbors in your prayers.
Show Up: Join us for a Thursday Bible study or step into a conversation with someone in your very community who just needs to be heard.
To donate or learn more, you can call our office at (562) 804-2189, email jtoyos@kcbellflower.org, or stop by Monday-Thursday from 9 AM-12 PM and 1 PM-4 PM.
Because when we listen, we learn. And when we learn, we love better.
